Terms of use

These terms form an agreement between you and James Brunwin trading as MealPair ("MealPair"). MealPair's address is 18 Mount Avenue, Halifax, HX2 0LF, United Kingdom, and its contact email is brunwwwin@gmail.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy notice.

Who may use MealPair

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract to create a MealPair account or purchase a membership. The service is intended for personal and household use, not professional catering, clinical nutrition, or emergency use.

The service

MealPair helps you discover recipes and meal pairs, plan meals, create shopping lists, follow cooking steps, keep private cooking records, and, where available, generate recipes with AI. Some features require an account, a supported device, an internet connection, or a paid membership. Feature descriptions and the checkout page explain what is included in each plan.

Accounts and security

Provide accurate account information, keep access to your email and Google account secure, and tell MealPair promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from MealPair's failure to use reasonable care. You may sign out other sessions or permanently delete your account from Account security.

Recipe, allergen, and nutrition information

Recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, allergen indicators, cooking times, and nutrition estimates are general information, not medical, dietary, or professional advice. Ingredients and manufacturing methods change, and cross-contamination is possible. Always check product labels, allergen warnings, storage instructions, safe cooking temperatures, and the needs of everyone eating the meal. If an allergy, intolerance, pregnancy, medical condition, or prescribed diet could make a choice unsafe, seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

AI-generated content

AI-generated recipes may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsuitable, or unexpectedly similar to existing ideas. MealPair validates structured results and may review content, but cannot guarantee that AI output is error-free or appropriate for you. Check every generated recipe before shopping, cooking, publishing, or sharing it. Do not include confidential information or another person's personal information in a generation request.

Memberships and payment

  • Paid memberships are recurring monthly subscriptions. The price, billing interval, taxes, and included features are shown before you subscribe.
  • By selecting the subscribe button, you authorise Stripe to charge the displayed amount and then charge the membership price each month until the subscription is cancelled.
  • Generation allowances and other usage limits reset as described in the plan. Unused allowances do not carry over unless the plan description expressly says they do.
  • You can change plan, update payment details, download available invoices, or cancel at the end of the current billing period from Account billing. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but normally leaves paid features available until the displayed period end.
  • MealPair may change a future membership price or included features by giving reasonable advance notice. A price change will not apply before the next renewal identified in that notice, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Cooling-off, cancellation, and refunds

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. If UK law gives you a 14-day cooling-off right, you can exercise it by emailing MealPair within 14 days of entering the subscription and making a clear statement that you wish to cancel. By subscribing, you request that the digital service begins immediately. Where the law permits, any refund may be reduced to reflect the service supplied before cancellation. Refunds are also provided where required by law, including where the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill and an appropriate remedy is unavailable.

You may use this wording: "I give notice that I cancel my MealPair membership." Include your name, account email, date of subscription, and the date of your request. Send it to brunwwwin@gmail.com. This statutory route is separate from using Account billing to stop the next automatic renewal.

Your content and public contributions

You keep any rights you have in requests, comments, reviews, photographs, and other content you submit. You give MealPair a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, adapt, and display that content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. For content you choose to submit for public use, the licence also permits MealPair to publish, promote, moderate, and maintain it as part of the public catalogue.

Only submit content you have the right to use. Do not submit unlawful, misleading, infringing, abusive, discriminatory, dangerous, or privacy-invasive content. MealPair may review, refuse, hide, edit, or remove public contributions. A member-created recipe approved for the public catalogue may remain as unattributed MealPair editorial content if the member later deletes their account.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another account, bypass membership or usage controls, scrape the service at scale, upload malicious code, interfere with availability, misuse generation or upload features, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or use MealPair in a way that breaks the law or another person's rights. MealPair may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the service, or comply with law.

MealPair content and intellectual property

The MealPair name, branding, software, design, editorial content, and catalogue are owned by MealPair or used with permission. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for personal and household purposes. They do not transfer ownership of MealPair's intellectual property to you.

Availability and changes

MealPair aims to provide a reliable service but does not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, or changes to law may temporarily affect access. MealPair may change or discontinue a feature for a valid business, technical, security, or legal reason. Where a material change adversely affects a paid membership, MealPair will give reasonable notice or an appropriate remedy where required by law.

Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. MealPair is responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by its breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. MealPair is not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business loss arising from personal use, or for problems caused by information, devices, networks, ingredients, or services outside MealPair's reasonable control.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using MealPair and delete your account at any time. Deleting an account cancels an active subscription and ends access without waiting for the normal period end, so cancel from Account billing instead if you want to retain paid access until renewal. MealPair may end or suspend this agreement where you materially or repeatedly breach it, where continued service would create legal or security risk, or where MealPair discontinues the service. Rights and obligations that by their nature should continue after termination will survive.

Changes to these terms

MealPair may update these terms to reflect service, legal, security, or business changes. Material changes will be brought to account holders' attention where appropriate. If you do not agree to a material change, you may cancel a paid membership and stop using the service. The effective date above shows when these terms were last updated.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in another part of the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections of your local law and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
